Event Details

Schemas are repeated patterns seen in children’s behavior. By taking time to observe young children and discovering revolving themes in their play, we can use those themes to engage and support their learning. In this workshop, we’ll focus on how to tune into children’s interests and brains, how those interests change over time, and how adults can use the nine most common schematic play scenarios to support brain development. We’ll offer resources that providers can use in child care settings and look at children’s learning opportunities, linking it back to tools such as the DRDP.
