DESCRIPTION:This course meets the 8-hour California State regulations for child care providers.\n\n\nTHE ZOOM LINK WILL BE PROVIDED BY GABRIELA AFTER PURCHASHING A TICKET \nDue to our generous funders\, Bayer Corporation and the California Department of Education\, we are able to offer coupon codes for child care providers in Alameda\, Albany\, Emeryville\, Berkeley\, Oakland\, and Piedmont. Please contact Gabriela Meneses at gabriela@bananasbunch.org for more information.  \nThis course meets the 8-hour California State regulations for child care providers. You will practice life-saving\, mouth-to-mouth resuscitation\, and care for choking on manikins. First Aid teaches injury prevention and how to respond to emergencies and accidents. This class covers ages birth to adult\, although the emphasis is placed on pediatric ages cared for in child care programs. This is a 2-year certification. Be sure to register at bananasbunch.org. \nYou must attend all four classes happening on June 6\, 7\, 8\, and 11 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. You only need to purchase ONE ticket for June 11. SUMMARY:Busy\, Curious & Capable: Meeting the Unique Needs of Boys in Early Learning
DESCRIPTION:Teachers struggle with children of all genders who are less self-regulated\, less attentive\, and more hostile in their reactions.\n\n\nBoys\, particularly African American students\, are having increased conflicts with their teachers in early childhood and elementary settings. Research has demonstrated increased conflict progress throughout the school year regardless of the teacher’s ethnicity. Teachers struggle with children of all genders who are less self-regulated\, less attentive\, and more hostile in their reactions. Currently\, boys experience a relationship disadvantage in the early childhood years. The attunement and attachment required for belonging and learning are often mixed or missed. Boys learn differently than conventional education provides in most settings. To support the interest\, needs\, and development of boys\, adjusting and modifying our teaching behaviors\, attitudes\, and beliefs about boys can support them in their educational experience.

You will practice life-saving\, mouth-to-mouth resuscitation\, and care for choking on manikins. First Aid teaches injury prevention and how to respond to emergencies and accidents. This class covers ages birth to adult\, although the emphasis is placed on pediatric ages cared for in child care programs. This is a 2-year certification.
