Soon after arriving in San Francisco during the 1980s, Debbie volunteered on the Women’s Switchboard & Crisis Line, a collective located at the Women’s Building. Realizing the opportunities the Bay Area offered for women and children, she decided to put down some roots. After her two daughters were grown, she used her accounting degree to begin working for nonprofits. As soon as Debbie walked into BANANAS almost four years ago, she knew this was where she wanted to stay. Debbie loves being among people who work so hard and care so much about helping families and their children. She thinks it is a wonderful place to be and notes that the energy is endless. She is happy to be part of the future of BANANAS and enjoys working with her coworkers in Fiscal to make some wonderful changes.
At home, Debbie likes gardening, hearing about her grandkids, and playing with her two rescue dogs. She and her partner also enjoy camping and daytrips to explore the diversity of the Bay Area.
