Family Services Manager
With a background in parent advocacy and social work, Chandra joined the BANANAS Bunch in the spring of 2015, making her the newest manager on staff and a boost of fresh enthusiasm for the team. She brings experience as a program supervisor with the Northern California Family Center where she oversaw programs for foster and runaway/homeless youth and as an instructor for Brighter Beginnings, where she taught classes for teen parents and pregnant mothers. In addition, she holds a Masters of Science from Columbia University and is a certified doula who trained at Sacred Birth Place in Oakland.
Chandra is excited to be on staff at BANANAS because she once benefitted from the agency’s resources as a new mother, both as a parent attending workshops and as someone receiving subsidies as she transitioned back into the work force. She looks forward to the future of BANANAS and hopes to continue to increase services to parents and families, especially communities of color and those from all social-economic classes. When she is not in the office, she loves to stay active, whether by joining a women’s basketball league or learning yoga, and trying out new restaurants with friends and family, including her four-year-old son, Elijah.firstname.lastname@example.org
