DURING THIS TIME, FILL OUT THE CHILD CARE REQUEST FORM.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SEARCH WIDGET BELOW.

Governor Gavin Newsom’s shelter-at-home legal order currently includes the restriction that family child care providers/child care facilities can remain open only for children of parents working in essential sectors. Refer to the Alameda County Public Health Department’s COVID-19 website for additional information on this order by clicking here

This means that child care should be closed unless the program is providing care for essential workers. Refer to this list of essential workers for more information and to determine if you as a parent are in this category. If you are an essential worker and looking for care, BANANAS is currently connecting families to child care in Northern Alameda County during the COVID-19 situation. Click on the Child Care Request Form on the link below to submit your child care needs. A referral counselor will contact you shortly. Be advised that if you need to call them back and reach voicemail, please leave a message as referral counselors are actively checking voicemail messages and will return your call.

Parents have the right to get information about any substantiated or inconclusive complaints about any licensed child care provider by calling the California Department of Social Services at 844-538-8766. You can also perform a facility search on their website. This site contains five years’ worth of information on child care programs including inspection reports. Never rely on this information alone to make a decision about a facility. Always visit facilities in person to ensure that it meets your family’s needs.
