Calm and Connected: Understanding Emotional Regulation in Children and Parents A three part series.

January 8, 2026 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free

Week 1 — Why Kids Lose It (and What They Need Most):
When big emotions show up as tantrums, defiance, or power struggles, it can leave even the most patient parent feeling frustrated and unsure of what to do. In week one, you’ll learn what’s really driving challenging behavior, how to spot the early signs of a spiral, and simple, brain-based tools to help your child move through big feelings and return to calm.
Week 2 — Staying Grounded When Kids Can’t:
This week focuses on you and your nervous system—why certain behaviors push your buttons, how to stay steady when emotions run high, and what to do when you’ve already lost your cool. You’ll leave with reset strategies that help you recover quickly and repair with confidence.
Week 3 — Preventing Power Struggles and Building Cooperation:
Finally, we take everything you’ve learned and apply it to real family life—mornings, homework, sibling conflict, transitions, and bedtime. You’ll learn practical scripts and connection-based strategies that reduce resistance and build cooperation without threats, bribes, or punishment.
