CPR and First Aid is the course that complies with California state regulations for child care providers. First Aid teaches injury prevention and how to respond to emergencies and accidents. This class covers birth through adulthood, although the focus is on the pediatric ages served in child care programs. This certification is for two years.
This class is offered virtually for the first six hours and 2 hours in-person-practice,until completing the 8 hours required by licensing and EMSA. The last two hours will be required to complete in-person in small groups of 8 persons per session (3 sessions, 9 am to 11am, 11am to 1 pm, 1 pm to 3 pm ) at the Bananas building. Schedules will be discourse for each group on Wednesday, made for the Saturday following the class.
CPR / First Aid is not a preventive health class. CPR / First Aid must be taken every two years to be licensed. If you have any questions about the classes or coupons, please contact the Health and Safety Coordinator, Gabriela Meneses at gabriela@bananasbunch.org.
