Curriculum planning an implementation is confusing sometimes. When we develop a curriculum that focuses on the whole child, we create equitable learning experiences. This two-part workshop will introduce you to Developmentally Appropriate Practice (known as DAP). Using the 4th version of DAP to offer guidance on how to create developmentally appropriate curriculum for children. In developmentally appropriate classrooms adults assess children by what they already know, learn about each child’s abilities, interest, needs, and help each child meet their goals. In this workshop participants will explore all that is DAP, and its role in nurturing children’s overall development through playful, intentional, and engaging planning, interaction, and follow-through.
