Whole Body Science-STEM Ideas for Young Children on the Move

FreeDo you have active children? Then this workshop is for you!
Everything is science, so while you won’t need any new materials, Whole Body Science provides a new lens to look through when trying to engage those “whole body learners”. This workshop is for providers who don’t have a STEM background and who have very physically active children, or even children who aren’t interested in the typical “sit-down” science activities. In this interactive workshop, providers will:
- Observe examples of how to identify and provide STEM opportunities through engaging the body and active, hands-on play
- Reflect and strategize on supervision and workflow
- Learn how STEAM supports Whole Body Science
- Foster developmentally-appropriate ways for children who crave power, consent and peer connection
- How to use inquiry and improvisation to support STEM engagement
- How to connect Whole Body Science to the DRDP
